Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the EU-Russia summit
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the EU-Russia summit in Nice, France on November 14, and the G20 summit in Washington to be held on November 14-15, a Kremlin spokesman announced on Wednesday.

The summit will be hosted by Nicolas Sarkozy, the president of France, which holds the rotating EU presidency; also attending will be Jose Manuel Barroso, president of the European Commission, and the organization's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana.

Ahead of the summit, the Russian president will address a roundtable of Russian and EU industrialists in Cannes on Thursday.

The G20 summit in Washington is due to discuss measures to tackle the global financial crisis and support for the world banking system.

At the summit Medvedev is expected to voice his country's proposals to fight the global credit crunch and reforming the financial system.

On the sidelines of the summit, Medvedev will hold a number of bilateral meetings with other heads of states attending the G20 meeting.

According to a Kremlin report, the Russian president will hold bilateral meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Chinese leader Hu Jintao and British PM Gordon Brown.

In Washington, the Russian president is also expected to address public figures, scientists and businessmen at the local office of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the Kremlin said.

The Russian leader may also hold one-on-one talks with his U.S. counterpart George Bush at an APEC summit to be held in Lima, Peru on November 22-23, the Kremlin added.
