The teenager, who has no driver's license, was behind the wheel of a Subaru off roader when the accident occurred late on Wednesday on the Chelyabinsk - Troitsk highway. The pedestrians were walking along the side of the road when they were hit.

"They died at the scene from their injuries," a spokesman said.
