The settlement of the political crisis in Ukraine should be democratic and legal, and not subject to outside or inside political pressure. This is what Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, the Kremlin press service said. "This is the solution that Russia has and will advocate," stressed the Russian president. During the conversation, Putin also said that Russia had deep concerns and solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the current situation caused by the post-election crisis and "fraught with serious consequences for economic and political stability." He expressed the hope for early settlement of the crisis within the national legislation and the constitutional framework.
