At least nine people were injured after an unknown explosive device
At least nine people were injured after an unknown explosive device went off at a market in the south of Moscow near the Prazhskaya metro station, a police source said on Saturday.

"As a result of a blast caused by an unknown explosive device nine people, including a child, were injured," the source said.

He added that the remains of the explosive device have been already discovered, which according to preliminary information was a self-made explosive and contained the equivalent of 100-200 grams of TNT.

But a spokesman for the Ministry for Emergency Situations said four people were injured in the blast, which occurred at a shop selling fireworks. He said that the blast was caused by fireworks, which went off after a fire outbreak in the shop.

Viktor Biryukov, a spokesman for the Moscow police, said that people have been evacuated from the market, which is cordoned off by police.

He said that, according to preliminary information, people received light injuries and are treated by medics, adding that police inspects the market for other possible explosive devices.
