Russia vice-premier presents medal to Spanish prince
Russian Deputy Prime Minster Viktor Khristenko, who was on a visit to Spain, presented a medal "the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg" to Spanish Prince Felipe. Russian President Vladimir Putin charged the vice-premier to present the medal to the Spanish crown prince, who attended the jubilee celebrations in St. Petersburg last year. Khristenko was in Madrid as a co-chairman of the Russian-Spanish intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, the meeting of which was held last Friday. In an interview with Itar-Tass, the vice-premier said that Prince Felipe emphasised the importance of the character and level of relations between Spain and Russia, not only in the political, but also in trade and economic areas. The prince said he considered it important to personally promote productive development of Spanish-Russian relations in all directions.
