"With every passing year, the republic's largest oil producing enterprise increases oil output. In 2007, the company surpassed a level of 6 million tons [44 million barrels], reaching 6.145 million tons [45 million barrels) of hydrocarbons. In 2008, this indicator rose by another 142,000 tons [1.04 million barrels]," the company said in a statement.
In 2008, Udmurtneft drilled 37 new oil wells, the statement said.
The Republic of Udmurtia is located in the eastern part of the East European Plain between the Kama River and its tributary Vyatka.
