The incident happened on the Israeli side near the Kissufim crossing in central Gaza in breach of a ceasefire in place for about 10 days.

Israeli radio reports cited Palestinian sources as saying they saw Israeli infantry and tanks move into the Gaza Strip later in the day, killing a Palestinian farmer in Khan Yunis, to the south.
