The man, from the town of Lysva in Russia's Perm Territory, found that his wife had registered on the loveplanet.ru dating website as "Angel." He also discovered that she had been having an affair with a married man from the nearby city of Perm.

After reading the advert, the man began beating his wife around the head. He continued to do so until she was dead.

He faces 15 years behind bars if found guilty of the charges against him.
