During an inspection of a vessel, which arrived from the far eastern port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the port of Vladivostok, inspectors discovered 85 tons of fish without the correct documentation, confirming origin, quality and food safety.
"Administrative sanctions were imposed on the supplier, the entire batch of fish - coho salmon, plaice, cod and pollock - was seized."
According to the federal laws, the fish will be either destroyed or processed into animal feed.
Over 2,100 tons of fish were seized in the Far Eastern Primorye Territory in 2008.
