A Russian police officer was forced to seek medical attention after
A Russian police officer was forced to seek medical attention after a drunken woman bit his hand as he tried to detain her, a police source said on Tuesday.

The police officer arrived to detain the woman in the southwest of Moscow on Monday after receiving a call from neighbors, who complained that she was heavily drinking near their building.

During the arrest the 35-year-old woman, from Chelyabinsk in the Urals, was fighting and swearing.

"On the way to the police office in a car the woman bit the palm of a sergeant with the patrol and inspection service and the man had to have the wound disinfected in a hospital," the source said.

The woman was later released on pledge not to leave the city. She could be charged with assaulting a police officer.
