Thieves have stolen 50 Chihuahua puppies
Thieves have stolen 50 Chihuahua puppies from a pet shop in Hasselt, the capital of the Flemish province of Limburg, local media said on Wednesday.

The theft occurred on Tuesday night, the Belgian RTL TV station reported. Attackers also stole a large batch of dog food.

"We are speaking about puppies who cannot survive without special nutrition," the TV station quoted the shop manager as saying.

Chihuahuas, the world's smallest breed of dog, are one of the most popular breeds in Belgium, worth over 1,000 euros each.
