Russia increased fishing volumes by 35% in January-February year-on-year
Russia increased fishing volumes by 35% in January-February year-on-year and cut fish imports 20%, the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery said on Thursday.

"Fishermen are switching to cheaper fish. If we provide sufficient volumes of cheap fish, the industry will grow more than 25%," Andrei Krainy said.

He added that Russia was planning to catch some 4 million tons of seafood this year as compared to 3.3 million tons in 2008.
