Vladimir Putin would be expected to confer with Government members here today for the last time in 2004
President Vladimir Putin would be expected to confer with Government members here today for the last time in 2004. Such conferences, which became a regular event during Putin's presidency, take place every Monday. Moreover, Vladimir Putin will award outstanding Russian citizens. As a rule, the afore-said weekly conferences involving Vladimir Putin and members of his Government deal with current socio-economic and political developments on Russian territory and elsewhere. The Russian head of state will also present state awards to prominent Russian citizens in an impressive setting, that is, in one of the Kremlin's most famous halls. The Russian Federation's state awards are a top form of commending citizens for their outstanding services to the country in such spheres as national defense, state development, the economy, science, culture, the arts, education, etc. The list of such awards includes the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, as well as orders and medals.
