Anti-Terrorist Operation in the North Caucasus.
A militant who was involved in the summer 2004 attack on Ingushetia has given himself in to law-enforcers in Chechnya, reported the press centre of the Regional Operational Headquarters for the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the North Caucasus. "A 19-year-old resident of the Sunzhi district and an active member of an illegal armed gang surrendered to law-enforcers yesterday," said the press service. The militant said he had been a member of the group subordinate to what is known as the Sernovodsk wahhabi jamaat and had taken part in the raid on Ingushetia on June 21, 2004. "Besides, the militant confessed his part in the murder of 3 policemen on the Rostov-Baku road near Nesterovskaya stanitsa in Ingushetia's Sunzhi district," said the press service. The investigators of the North Caucasus department of the Prosecutor General's Office are conducting relevant legal proceedings with respect to the militant.
