Russia has been responsible for maintaining the international space station since the disaster that occurred a year ago with the Columbia space shuttle
MOSCOW, January 29. Russia has been responsible for maintaining the international space station since the disaster that occurred a year ago with the Columbia space shuttle. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced today by General Director of the Russian Agency for Aviation and Astronautics Yuri Koptev. According to Mr Koptev, the Americans still can not give a definite date for launching a shuttle for long-term use at the space station. 'The next assembly of the agencies' participating in the ISS project will take place in March 2004. We are planning to insist that the next stage of construction at the ISS be completed by the end of the year,' he added.
