When asked about the measures being taken by the Russian Foreign Ministry to facilitate Russian pilgrims' travel to Saudi Arabia, Alexander Yakovenko, an official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said the Russian hadj-mission's headquarters were working in Mecca. Mr. Yakovenko added with reference to the Russian consulate in Jidda that the first batch of 328 Russian pilgrims arrived in Medina on January 8 and 9 by two charter flights.
