The Russian television company NTV resumes work in Belarus
MOSCOW, JANUARY 30 (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT LYUDMILA BERSHANSKAYA) - The Russian television company NTV resumes work in Belarus. The NTV office will begin work on February 1, 2004, RIA Novosti was told at the NTV press service. In January the Belarussian Information Ministry signed the telecasting cooperation agreement within the framework of further strengthening of union relations and forming a single information environment of Belarus and Russia. It is to be recalled that the NTV Minsk office opened last July. Earlier, the Belarussian authorities had closed the former NTV office in Belarus because of the report by NTV correspondent Pavel Selin on the funeral of well-known Belarussian writer Vasil Bykov. The Belarussian authorities found the facts in his report not true and deported Selin from Belarus.
