61,000 babies came into the world in the Moscow environs last year-32,000 boys and 29,000 girls, reports the central regional registry office. There were 515 pairs of twins. Seven mothers had triplets. The highest birth rates were reported from the towns Dolgoprudny, Kotelniki, Bronnitsy and Yubileiny, the lowest from the Mozhaisk District. The regional average birth rate came 3.9 per cent up, and death rate reduced by 2.5 per cent. The number of weddings also slid down.
