Georgia's Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania has died
Georgia's Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania has died, Minister of Police and Public Security Vano Merabishvili told journalists. According to him, the premier died last night in a gas leak. "Around midnight, the premier returned to his flat together with a friend," Mr. Merabishvili said. The premier's security later tried to telephone him, but their calls remained unanswered. At four in the morning, the premier's security got into the flat through a window and found the body of the premier's friend, Raul Usupov, deputy governor of Kvemo Kartli, in the kitchen. Preliminary investigation blamed the death of Mr. Zhvania and his friend on a faulty gas heater
