The sporting truck KamAZ-4911 of Vladimir Chagin had an accident during demonstration in the United Arab Emirates' capital Abu Dhabi
The life of the Russian racer is now out of danger and he has been hospitalized, RIA Novosti learnt from a knowledgeable source in the Russian delegation at the arms exhibition. The KamAZ team's press secretary Alexei Shilobodin does not confirm the news of Chagin's being wounded. "We have contacted Vladimir Chagin by mobile telephone and learnt that nothing has happened to him today or earlier", the press secretary has said. A source of the RIA Novosti correspondent reported by telephone from Abu Dhabi that Chagin had been testing the automobile in jumps and negotiating a ford. "At some stage, Chagin interrupted the tests and went out of the vehicle. Some observers saw it as an accident", the source said. Within the international exhibition IDEX'2005, due in the UAE capital on February 12 through 17, the KamAZ automobile factory presents three of its full-drive multipurpose vehicle family. "The KamAZ delegation is not part of the Russian official Rosoboronexport delegation, which exhibits military and dual-purpose products at the IDEX'2005 arms exhibition", the source in the Russian delegation has said. The Russian exhibition represents about 40 big defense factories and organizations. Over 500 highly efficient weapons and military machines, equipment, instruments, ammunition for actually every fighting service and arm are showcased.
