An international conference dealing with Russia's corporate management and investment climate opens in London today
Those taking part in the conference will assess specific events and the reaction of investors. Talking to RIA Novosti, the conference's organizers noted that this was the third forum already. The conference is organized by the analytical center of Russia's Expert magazine and the London Stock Exchange, as well as by the PriceWaterhouseCoopers audit company. On February 18 we will discuss specific investment-climate myths and realities, as well as the present-day state of Russian corporate management, conference organizers noted. The world's investment community is mostly concerned over political administration and corporate management. Such concerns became even more pronounced over the last 12 months, the forum's organizers added. Moreover, conference delegates will discuss an international survey that was conducted by Expert-magazine analysts, and which studies Western investors' opinions of investment operations on Russian territory. This survey was conducted in New York, London and Moscow. Its results will be presented by Andrei Shmarov, director of the Expert magazine's analytical center. Top managers of companies (that had co-founded the project) and partner companies, as well as those of London City companies and the London Stock Exchange, will deliver their reports at the conference. The list of main speakers includes Chris Gibson-Smith, Chief Executive Officer at the London Stock Exchange, First Deputy Russian Central Bank Board Chairperson Tatiana Paramonova, First Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Ivan Materov, Deputy Director of the Federal Financial Markets Service Sergei Kharlamov, chief Alfa-Bank economist Natalia Orlova, Alexander Shokhin, chairman of the Renaissance Capital investment company's supervisory council, LUKOIL vice-president Leonid Fedun and some others. Representatives of Russian and British financial circles, major corporations and the business press will attend the conference inside the London Stock Exchange building
