70% of Muscovites believes that the increase of communal tariffs in January 2005 in unjust
The overwhelming majority of Muscovites (70%) believes that the increase of communal tariffs in January 2005 in unjust. This is the result of the telephone poll of 600 adult Muscovites conducted by the ROMIR (Russian Public Opinion and Market Research) Monitoring holding from January 10 to 17. According to 18% of the polled, the raise of tariffs is a tough but necessary measure because former tariffs did not cover the real cost of communal services. Only 4% of the polled believe that this measure is reasonable. Most Muscovites (78%) hope that the increase of tariffs will not reflect on the quality of services, while 11% are more pessimistic. They believe that the quality of communal services will grow worse. Only 5% of the polled are of the opposite opinion.
