Private talks between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and George Bush have started in Bratislava
Only interpreters participate in the talks except the two leaders. According to Russian President's aide Sergei Prikhodko, the talks will focus on the fight against terrorism, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, situations in hot spots and cooperation in overcoming emergency situations and man-caused disasters. Following the talks the two leaders will give a joint press conference. Earlier Bratislava saw the ceremony of meeting of Vladimir and Lyudmila Putin, George and Laura Bush and Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic and his wife Silvia. The leaders and their spouses met in the patio of the ancient castle in the center of the Slovak capital. The presidents and first ladies of the three countries were photographed. After that, Vladimir Putin, George Bush and Ivan Gasparovic proceeded to the castle on a red carpet surrounded by guards of honor. The spouses of the presidents withdrew, as a special program had been prepared for them.
