The Progress-M52 cargo ship has brought to the ISS crewmen sweets and trifles indispensable to life.
"The parcel of the American astronaut contains many interesting things like ear-ring memento badges and many chocolate bars, since they both have a sweet tooth," ISS flight control officer Vladimir Solovyov told RIA Novosti. Except parcels from home the Progress-M52 has brought in fresh and freeze-dried foods, medical equipment, fresh linen and personal hygiene kits. The ISS has got fuel for attitude-control engines, drinking and service water, equipment for a future crew. Earlier, the Russian mission control center undocked from the ISS the Progress-M51, already past its service life, and removed it to a safe distance from the station. Its dumping in the ocean has been delayed for ten days because technical experiments with it will be held. "Work with this space vehicle will continue until March 9. Later, it will be de-orbited and dumped in the ocean" Viktor Blagov, the deputy head of the ISS Russian segment, said. Progress-M51 fragments unburned in the atmosphere will fall on the "spaceship cemetery" in latitude 40 in the Pacific Ocean near the Easter Island. Here, after 15 years of orbital service, the renowned Mir station was dumped in February 2000
