According to 49% of Russians, US President George Bush dislikes Russia and 28% are of the opposite opinion
These are the results of a representative poll of 1,500 Russians conducted by the Public Opinion foundation in 44 regions, territories and republics of the Russian Federation and 600 Muscovites. The statistic error is 3.6%. 23% of the poll approve of Mr. Bush's political activities. This rate was both higher (32% after September 11, 2001 and subsequent counter-terrorist actions) and lower (11% in spring 2003 after the US invasion in Iraq). 54% of the polled dislike the political figure of George Bush. However, since the previous poll conducted after the presidential elections in the US in November 2004, the number of those who dislike Mr. Bush has grown by 15% and the number of his supporters reduced by 4%. According to experts, during the election campaign George Bush's "rating" was high because Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian media were giving preference to him. Today these factors do not influence the opinions of Russian people.
