About 51% of Russians plan to mark the International Women's Day at home and 18% will pay visits
Prior to the International Women's Day (March 8) the All-Russia Public Opinion Research Center conducted a public poll to find out Russians' plans for this holiday. All in all, 1,600 people from 100 settlements of 40 regions, territories and republics of the Russian Federation were polled. It turned out that the most Russians (90%) consider the Women's Day their personal holiday. Both men and women share this opinion. About 51% of Russians plan to mark this day at home and 18% will pay visits. Four percent of the polled will go to a restaurant, club or discos, 1% will go to the theater, movies or to a concert and 2% will go to the country. Less then 1% will go to a rest home in Russia or abroad. Fourteen percent have not made their decision yet and 10% of the polled are not going to mark the holiday. Most Russians (81%) say that their families have a tradition to help women about the house on March 8. 85% of men and 77% of women spoke about this tradition. Most popular March 8 gifts are flowers (37%), various souvenirs (29%), perfumes, cosmetics and jewelry (18%) and sweets (18%). Twelve percent of the polled will give no presents on this day
