Famous guitarist Mark Knopfler will give a sole concert in the State Kremlin Palace on April 27
The musician is currently on a world tour to support his new album Shangri-La. The ex-leader of the cult band Dire Straits gave concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2001. These concerts closed his world tour to support his second solo album Sailing To Philadelphia. Mark Knopfler began his solo career in 1995. His fourth solo album is named after the famous studio in Malibu where Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Band, etc. used to record their albums. Shangri-La includes fourteen songs recorded in the 1960s style. These are mainly ballads combining blues, country and rock tunes. Former Dire Straits keyboard player Guy Fletcher, guitarist Richard Bennett, bass guitarists Jim Cox and Glenn Worf and drummer Chad Cromwell took part in the recording of the album. Mark Knopfler is to play all the songs from the new album and his most famous hits at the Moscow concert
