Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev will discuss the situation in Kyrgyzstan during Friday's working visit of the Kazakh president to Russia
"In the course of their meeting the heads of state will exchange their views on the situation in Kyrgyzstan and in the Central Asian region in general," a source in the Kremlin told RIA Novosti. The situation in the region has been discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin with some leaders of CIS states. In particular, this issue was raised at Putin's meeting with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rakhmonov on Thursday in Sochi. On Friday, the parliament of Kyrgyzstan is again to consider the question of accepting Akayev's voluntary resignation. The parliament is also to fix the date of the next presidential election. At a news conference in Sochi on April 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he expects an early stabilization in Kyrgyzstan and legitimization of the bodies of power and administration. Earlier, President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan had indicated at a news conference in Astana on March 31 that Kazakhstan would cooperate with the leader of Kyrgyzstan elected by the people. He said that to regulate the situation in Kyrgyzstan "it is necessary to return everything to the constitutional field and decide all issues in a lawful fashion." At the end of March, Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev had telephone conversations with Kurmanbek Bakiyev on his initiative. Bakiyev informed the two leaders of the situation in Kyrgyzstan, and asked them to help stabilize things in the republic
