Ukraine's Prime Minister Julia Timoshenko asked her Russian counterpart Mikhail Fradkov to put off their talks by several weeks
Timoshenko herself made this request, people at the Ukrainian Government's press service told RIA Novosti here today. "I asked Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov of the Russian Federation to postpone our meeting by several weeks," Timoshenko said. The Ukrainian Prime Minister put off her visit in connection with President Victor Yushchenko's orders to conduct the spring-time sowing campaign, press-service officials added. "The Government must focus on the solution of these problems in connection with the need to promptly organize a large-scale spring-time sowing campaign because of this year's natural-climatic conditions and because of the need to promptly solve petroleum-market problems. Government members, who are responsible for these issues, must temporarily refrain from business trips," Yushchenko's instruction notes.
