Over 50 heads of state and government will attend the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of VE Day in Moscow
Over 50 heads of state and government will attend the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of VE Day in Moscow, official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko said at the press conference of the Russian Victory organizing committee. "The 60th anniversary of VE Day should not cause confrontation and payment of old scores. The forthcoming holiday should promote unification of all countries and nations and bolster solidarity in the face of new global threats of the 21st century," Yakovenko said. According to him, the organizing committee is taking all effort to let WWII veterans arrive in Russia. "There are no serious problems with visas, all is settled rapidly," the diplomat noted. Russian diplomatic missions are handing jubilee medals abroad, he reported adding that a total of 100,000 medals will be handed. Moreover, 30,000 veterans living abroad will receive personal congratulations of the Russian president
