A two-day civil society Russian-Italian dialogue-forum "Russia-Italy. Meeting in Venice" opens in Venice on Wednesday
It is bringing together more than 300 businessmen, cultural personalities, scholars and educationists of the two countries. This is the second meeting within the framework of the Russian-Italian dialogue-forum. The program comprises 14 events: from round tables and signing of cooperation agreements to classic music concerts and art exhibitions. Yury Bashmet will perform in the La Fenice church, while in St. Mark's Cathedral the Moscow Patriarchate's Peresvet choir will sing several psalms after the morning mass. The Kuban Cossack Choir will perform in St. Mark's Square. The Moscow Photography House will put on an exhibition, "Quiet Resistance. Russian Pictorialism. 1900-1930." In addition to "culture dialogue" Venice will also host a series of business meetings. In particular, officials from Venice and St Petersburg will discuss problems common to the two cities at a round table called "St Petersburg -Venice. Common Problems and Solutions". Leading tourist agencies and relevant ministries of the two countries will meet to consider questions at a round table, "Russia-Italy: Tourism Cooperation Prospects". The discussions will be held at the Giorgio Cini Foundation, one of the most respected and well-known public institutions in Italy
