25 dead and 100 survivors have been pulled from the wreckage of Moscow's Transvaal ParkSergey Shoigu, the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, told journalists. Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, who arrived at the accident scene minutes after the glass roof of the aquapark collapsed, told that more than 400 people had been in the area of the collapse at the time of the disaster, with some 1,300 customers in all in the recreational complex. Overnight Saturday, more than 50 emergency service medical units were at the scene in addition to about 50 rescue workers. The pool area was littered with large fragments of concrete. Groans and cries for help could be heard from under them. The rescue teams moved carefully in shifting the ruins. Victims pulled from the clutter were immediately turned over to the emergency medics. Shoigu quickly set up an emergency headquarters at the site. Two Moscow Health Department hotline phone numbers can be used to obtain information on the killed and injured: 251-83-00 and 251-14-55. The number for the emergency headquarters at the accident scene: 139-70-99. The collapse of the approximately 5,000-square-meter roof of the entertainment complex occurred at 19:20 Moscow time Saturday. The park, built in 2002, is made up of several unequal modules. The complex includes the aquapark, a bowling facility, a rollerskating facility, a café and restaurant, a fitness center and a beauty salon. Overall, the complex covers some 20,000 square meters.
