The year's Russian computer assembly championship is taking start
Gigabyte Technology and R&K companies come as organizers, reports cnet.ru, IT news website. An elimination tour has been scheduled for May 28, to be hosted by the Vladimir Ulyanov State Electro-technical Engineering University in St. Petersburg. The organizers expect it to gather three hundred to a thousand contestants. Each will be assigned 15 minutes to assemble a basic configuration computer, configure it, and switch it on. No tools and equipment can be used except what the organizers are offering. Work evaluation proceeds from quality, part fixing precision -- with a necessary number of screws used, and the correctness of BIOS configuring, and of fixing the motherboard, video card, disk drive and other components. The year will see more elimination tours in major cities in all parts of Russia -- Yekaterinburg in the Urals, Rostov-on-Don in European Russia's south, Siberia's Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Omsk, Saratov and Samara on the Volga, Vladivostok on the Pacific coast, and Ufa, Bashkir capital in the Trans-Volga country. Moscow will host finals next fall, to gather all elimination tour winners
