Russia’s Proton-M rocket with a U.S. telecom satellite onboard was launched from the Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan at 9:59 p.m. Moscow time on Sunday, a source in the Khrunichev Aerospace Center’s press service told Itar-Tass. The four-stage liquid fuel heavy rocket with the Briz-M booster unit will put to a geo-stationary orbit the DirecTV-8 satellite.
