President Vladimir Putin is holding a meeting with the writing staff of the popular Komsomolskaya Pravda
President Vladimir Putin is holding a meeting with the writing staff of the popular Komsomolskaya Pravda, or Komsomolka, daily that will celebrate its 80th anniversary on Tuesday. The table is covered with the copies of the newspaper's first issue that was published on May 24, 1925. Earlier, the president visited the editorial office to pay tribute to the Komsomolka correspondents who perished on World War II fronts. Putin laid four red carnations at the stele with the names of correspondents killed in WWII. Then Putin, accompanied by the chief editor, toured the center and could watch the computer-aided makeup of the newspaper. The chief editor updated Putin on the newspaper makeup technology. President Putin watched articles being inserted in a newspaper issue. "You see, you have just come, but we have included you photo in the issue already," said Sungorkin. Putin asked questions about the work being done by the editorial office as a whole. Leaving the center, the president noticed a geographic map showing Komsomolka's coverage.
