The works of several Russian artists are displayed at the biggest modern art exhibition-cum-fair in the British capital, Art London
As the organizers of the fair said, it is going on in London's prestigious district of Chelsea for the seventh time and attracts the attention of art galleries and artists not only from Great Britain but also from other countries. It is expected that not only well-known artists, but also new talents will exhibit their works at the Art London. The participants include galleries from Chicago, Buenos Aires, Paris and Antwerp, a spokesman for the fair's press service said. "Altogether, more than 80 British and foreign galleries have sent their works to the exhibition: elegant, contradictory and different pictures, sculptures, photographs, ceramic and other articles whose prices vary from 300 to 10,000 pounds," the organizers said. Out of the Russian participants in the fair it is worthwhile pointing out the works by Nadezhda Zubareva and Konstantin Bessmertnykh. Nadezhda Zubareva was born in 1969 in Tyumen. She has graduated from the Mukhina Art Academy in Saint Petersburg, and now lives in the northern capital of Russia. Her works were many times exhibited in Russia and abroad. In London, they are displayed in the Artec Gallery which specializes in Russian modern art. At the Art London fair the visitors will see her composition "Embryo," made of metal wire and plastic. The picture by Konstantin Bessmertnykh (born in 1964) is more traditional both in genre and the manner of painting. His works are displayed in the London Kings Road Gallery, and for the Art London fair his canvas in oil, "Rider," has been chosen. The Art London 2005 exhibition-cum-fair will be open in the British capital till Sunday, June 12.
