The European Union has received a list of Russia's top concerns regarding the upcoming expansion of the EU after May 1
The European Union has received a list of Russia's top concerns regarding the upcoming expansion of the EU after May 1, said Emma Udwin, representing the EU public relations directorate and in charge of international relations. Some of Moscow's concerns are shared in Brussels and others can be discussed, she said. At the same time, the European Union hopes that Russia will agree to the spread of the agreement on partnership and cooperation with the EU to ten new members of the regional organization - Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. When asked how the EU has taken the change of cabinet in Russia and whether it can affect bilateral relations, the EU spokesperson said that it is Russia's internal matter and we cannot beforehand comment on such things because new cabinet ministers have not yet been appointed. Emma Udwin voiced confidence that cooperation between the EU and Russia will be reinvigorated with respect for the interests of both the sides.
