Moscow hopes for development of positive trends in relations between South Korea and North Korea
Moscow hopes for development of positive trends in relations between South Korea and North Korea, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. "The Russian side hails the participation of the DPRK and South Korean representatives in the events in Pyongyang on June 15-16 marking the 5th anniversary of the first inter-Korean summit," the ministry said. According to the ministry, the celebrations in Pyongyang and the Joint Declaration of Korean Nations adopted in the DPRK capital show that the sides are ready for reconciliation and development of dialogue and cooperation in different spheres. "We hope for further consolidation and development of positive trends in relations between the two Korean states which create favorable atmosphere for resuming six-nation talks in Beijing and promoting settlement on the Korean peninsula," the Foreign Ministry said.
