Mikhail Khodorkovsky has filed an appeal against the Moscow Meshchansky court's conviction sentence
Yukos former CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky has filed an appeal against the Moscow Meshchansky court's conviction sentence, in which he applies for participation in hearings. The Khodorkovsky press center's web site has published Friday a relevant statement. Under law, an appeal against a sentence can be tried in the absence of the convict. If a defendant wants to be present at an appeal court or take part in it via television broadcasting, he should apply at the appeal court. Khodorkovsky was sentenced to nine years in prison after having been convicted on six charges in accordance with the Russian Federation Criminal Code.
