Russian and NATO navies are successfully interacting in the manoeuvres Sorbet Royal 2005 in the Ionic Sea
Russia, Ukraine and Israel for the first time take part in the submarine rescue exercises of NATO. “We have got an invaluable experience and shared our skills with colleagues in the North Atlantic alliance,” said Captain Andrei Zvyagintsev, commander of the 328th search and rescue detachment that took part in efforts to rescue the nuclear-powered submarine Kursk. He said in an interview with Itar-Tass on the board of Italy’s ship Neptuno that such exercises “will allow improving the organisation of the interaction with NATO”. “Such manoeuvres should be carried out more often. Organisational mattes are on the whole similar, but we have different approaches in details,” he said
