Sergei Mironov stated to journalists
On Friday Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Federation Council (the upper house of the Russian parliament) stated to journalists that in the course of privatization a lot of mistakes were made in relation to enterprises of defense and industrial complex. In his opinion, it is "necessary to introduce amendments into the law on nationalization being considered by the State Duma (the lower house of the parliament). Mr. Mironov pointed out that presently enterprises of the defense sector were treated as ordinary enterprises without taking into account Russian strategic interests. According to him, it allowed owners "not only to disregard their social obligations but sometimes even not to know the assortment of manufactured products."
