More than 340 companies and organizations from more than 30 countries will participate in the International Naval Show, which opens here Wednesday, the show's organizational committee said. Show organizers said heads of Russian ministries and departments, representatives of the military, scientific and business circles would attend the show. "Twenty-nine official foreign delegations from 26 countries, including China, Indonesia, the U.S., France, Italy, Britain and India have confirmed their participation," the committee said. The naval show is being held under the aegis of the government Maritime Board, City Hall, the Defense Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, the Federal Service on Military Technical Cooperation and Rosoboronexport, the Russian state arms exporter. The show's format is considered unique for international naval forums. The exposition will show warships and boats, naval aviation above the Gulf of Finland and at an airdrome in Pushkin, a city suburb. Artillery systems will be shown at the Rzhevka Defense Ministry training field. The exhibition will also cover production on 14 thematic trends in nearly all naval equipment and hardware. Russian Navy warships and boats will be represented by the non-nuclear submarine Lada, Zubr air cushion landing craft and the Molniya missile speedboat. T The Russian Federal Service of Investigation's Border Service will present the patrol boats Svetlyak, Mirazh and Mangust, the high-speed patrol boat Mustang, air cushion boat Chilim and the patrol boat Boyets. Su-33, Su-25 UTG, Il-38, Be-103, La-8 aircraft and Ka-28, Ka-32, Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters will present naval aviation. The Emergencies Ministry will present the Be-200 amphibious plane. The show's organizational committee said it would open for experts Wednesday and for the public on June 30. The first show was held in June 2003
