Tbilisi has made public a report about incidents of robbery at two offices of US military advisers in Tbilisi
The Tbilisi-based Kviris Palitra newspaper reported with reference to informed sources that unidentified thieves had robbed two offices of US military advisers on the fourth and eighths floors of a 12 –storeyed building that earlier housed the Georgian Defense Ministry. Several "Notebooks" were stolen from the office, the burglars also broke an office safe from which a large sum of money was stolen, the Georgian newspaper claims. The Georgian Defence Ministry has denied reports about stolen money as “not conforming to the reality.” Nevertheless, the Defense Ministry has confirmed the incident of robbery, which reportedly occurred a week after the Georgian Defense Ministry had moved to anew building. In a few weeks the offices of the US military advisers will also move to the new building of the Georgian Defense Ministry, it said. The US Embassy to Georgia has made no comment on the incident yet. The embassy has a day off on July 4 because it is the US national holiday. The Embassy did not rule out that its comment might follow later
