Russia and Germany have highlighted the importance of developing anti-terrorist cooperation in light of the tragic events in London
The Russian Foreign Ministry said First Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin and the chairman of the Bundestag's foreign affairs committee, Volker Ruhe, had discussed efforts to counter terrorism. Loshchinin and Ruhe also discussed bilateral relations and international policy issues, including the reform of the UN and the Security Council. Germany is seeking to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council, which will be enlarged after reform. The two officials "expressed satisfaction with the high level of Russia-Germany relations, an integral element of which is inter-parliamentary contacts, including between the relevant foreign policy committees," the Russian Foreign Ministry said
