20,000 tonnes of wheat are being dispatched from the port of Novorossiisk to Indonesia
20,000 tonnes of wheat are being dispatched from the port of Novorossiisk to Indonesia, which experienced a devastating tsunami last December. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry is holding the relief action, deputy head of the Emercom Agency’s customs clearance department Alexander Oreshkov told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. “The grain shipment begins the second phase of the Russian government’s relief effort for Southeast Asia,” he said. Back in December 2004 the ministry send food, medicines, clothing and bed linen and opened field hospitals in Indonesia. “Russia continues to fulfill humanitarian aid commitments,” Oreshkov said. The Cypriot dry cargo vessel chartered by the Russian ministry will head for Jakarta in the small hours of July 15. The approximate duration of the voyage is 40 days
