Five hundred kilograms of crude oil have spilled from a railroad tank-car in the town of Ust-Kut in the Irkutsk region
Five hundred kilograms of crude oil have spilled from a railroad tank-car in the town of Ust-Kut in the Irkutsk region (Siberia), a spokesperson for the regional office of the Emergency Situations Ministry said Friday. According to the official, three 62-metric ton tank-cars carrying crude oil were derailed Thursday at the local branch of the Irkutsk oil refinery and about 500 kilograms of oil spilled from one of them. An emergency crew arrived at the site of the accident to put the tank-cars back on the tracks. Several fuel trucks were sent to transfer fuel from the tank-cars that had overturned. Damaged rail tracks are believed to have caused the accident.
