Twenty-two people were killed in two traffic accidents in Western Siberia on Sunday
A collision between a KamAZ truck and a bus in the Tomsk region left 14 dead and another 14 injured. The local traffic police said Monday the accident had taken place on a road between Tomsk, a major city in Western Siberia, and the town of Mariinsk at 9.30 p.m. local time (about 3:30 GMT). "A bus carrying 26 tourists, the driver and his assistant, was on the wrong side of the road when it collided with the KamAZ," the traffic police said. "Then a tractor ran into the bus. Fourteen people were killed, and another 14 were taken to hospitals in Tomsk." The bus, which belonged to a private businessman, was carrying the tourists from Tomsk to the village of Zhemchuzhnoye. The other crash occurred in the neighboring Khanty Mansi autonomy and killed eight people, including three police officers. A KamAZ truck, an UAZ all-terrain vehicle, and a VAZ car collided on the Nyagan-Khanty Mansi road. "Eight people were killed in the accident, another two people, including one child, received injuries of various degrees of gravity," a local official reported.
