Russia is ready to extend loans to Jordan on favorable terms to develop cooperation between the two countries
Russia is ready to extend loans to Jordan on favorable terms to develop cooperation between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday after a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan. "The Russian government is ready to consider extending financial assistance to develop bilateral ties," Putin said. "It would involve some hundred million dollars." According to the Russian president, Jordan's annual trade with Russia amounts to $50 million, compared to $1 billion with the United States, $500 million with China, and $370 million with Saudi Arabia. "It is a small figure," he said. "We can surely reach more significant figures." The president also said it was necessary to create a legal framework, including agreements on economic and trade cooperation, on the security of investments, and on avoiding double taxation of incomes.
