CSKA Moscow will play the second leg of its UEFA Cup first round tie without Brazilian forward Vagner Love
CSKA Moscow will play the second leg of its UEFA Cup first round tie without Brazilian forward Vagner Love, a spokesman for CSKA said Wednesday. Sergei Aksyonov said the cup holders would be without the prolific striker because he needed treatment on a leg injury. He said the rest of the team would leave for Denmark, where it will seek to build on a 3:1 lead from the first leg, against Midtjylland, on Wednesday afternoon. "Even [midfielder] Milos Krasic is coming with us, but he will not play due to injury," he said. Aksyonov said although playmaker Daniel Carvalho picked up a knock in the most recent match of the Russian premier league, he was ready for the game in Denmark, which will kick off at 6.00 p.m. GMT on Thursday. "Carvalho is actually ready to play," Aksyonov said. "It will be up to CSKA coach Valery Gazayev whether or not to put him on the field. It depends on how the match develops."
