Doctors have reported an outbreak of anthrax in Kyrgyzstan’s Jalal-Abad region, where nine people were hospitalized in the past few days with anthrax as a preliminary diagnosis. At this moment, medics are closely watching the patients’ condition. Quarantine has been imposed on the Bazar-Korgon district of the region, where all the nine cases were registered. The authorities closed meat and dairy markets, prohibited the sales of livestock and began giving preventive treatment to the population there. Experts have established that all the nine patients had contracted the disease from sick animals.
